Character Costumes
If you are producing a film or play, or going to a fancy dress party, why not find all or part of your outfit in a charity shop? You might be able to create a look that you had not thought possible. You may find an original item from the time period you want that, you would never find on the highstreet.

Of course this includes props and, perhaps, even part of the scenery. The picture shown is in Care and Share, the Sally Army shop in Falmouth, Cornwall. Also, see on the 'Children's Clothing' blog (4th December 2011), the vintage doll I saw in the same shop.

For instance, Shop For Theatre is a theatre event spread over Falmouth from 15th-18th December to entertain Christmas shoppers. Actors will be singing, dancing, acting and interacting with shoppers and then performing all the pieces in one show at the Poly (Royal Cornwall Polytechnic) on Monday 19th December at 8pm. For more info you can visit: Shop For Theatre on Facebook
The costumes and props wanted are:
3 x pirates
A play plastic pirate's cutlass
A turkey (costume for human)
An artist (dress up for a person, not an actual person)
A white fairy tale dress
Get up for a middle aged, proper man and woman.
An easy chair.
A carol singer's lamp,

Here is the outcome: Trailer for Shop For Theatre
That kind of thing. Any pictures of costumes that appear will be photographed and posted up, as will pictures of the actors in action.
And more...
